Elgin Voters, Let’s Repeal the Largest Tax Increase in Oregon History!

1–2 minutes

Friends and neighbors in Elgin, this weekend I’ll be collecting signatures for a ballot measure to repeal the Governor’s gas tax. This is the largest tax increase in Oregon history, and it will increase fuel costs and vehicle registration prices. You may be wondering why a city leader is trying to repeal a gas tax that is supposed to provide revenue for the city of Elgin. The answer is pretty simple: higher gas costs are going to make the prices that we pay to vendors and contractors way more expensive, and it’s going to make fuel costs for the city’s vehicle fleet that much more costly as well. If you’re like me, we’re all pinching pennies in this economy, and higher gas prices are going to make everyday travel for work and shopping that much more unaffordable. If you see me and my wife out and about, stop me for a signature. If you want to sign, call me at 541-805-2630, and we’ll get a petition sheet in your hands. Feel free to message me on Facebook, too. Let’s get this done, Elgin!
